Late-Pleistocene to Holocene tephrostratigraphy over continental China
My research focuses on the identifications of tephra and cryptotephra layers from continental China. Tephra laters from explosive eruptions can serve as important isochronous marker beds for Quaternary studies. There are many frequently erupting volcanic regions adjacent to China, such as Japan and Southeast Asia. Tephra from these regions were possibly transported and deposited across continental China, and thus searching for these tephra layers in sedimentary archives may provide important isochronous layers for regional Quaternary studies.
