This module is only avaiable in addition to the regular three-year syllabus of a standard undergraduate degree (or in addition to the four-year syllabus of an undergraduate Masters degree [MSci]). It provides a framework for students spending a full academic year on a work placement within the UK and is designed to allow them to obtain work-related experiences, develop effective communication skills and enhance their employability skills. Students who successfully complete this module will gain the degree title supplement “with Placement”.
You will gain practical experience and develop both an awareness and understanding of the structures, policies, procedures and ethos of a business, institution or organization in the UK heritage sector. You will also develop your ability to adapt to a work environment, to work in a team and your understanding of professional responsibilities. You will also apply the skills you have acquired in a practical work environment, in order to maximise future career prospects.
Module Co-ordinator: Dr Maarten Blaauw
